Al Sourya – Editorial Standards
(General Newsroom Policy)
Last updated: 'March' 2026
This page explains how Al Sourya maintains editorial independence, corrects errors, and manages copyright and content reuse. It replaces separate editorial integrity documents to make our newsroom standards transparent and easy to understand.
1. Editorial Principles and Integrity
Mission: Al Sourya aims to inform the public with accurate, independent, and balanced reporting that reflects facts, not opinion or influence.
Independence
Editorial decisions are made solely by Famia Media Group editors and journalists.
Commercial partners, advertisers, or sponsors cannot influence news content.
Staff disclose potential conflicts of interest; management reassigns work when necessary.
Accuracy and verification
Facts are verified with at least two reliable sources whenever possible.
Statistics, quotes, and images are clearly attributed.
Anonymous sources are used sparingly and verified by editors.
Fairness and right of reply
Anyone subject to significant criticism or allegations is given an opportunity to respond.
We respect privacy, dignity, and the safety of individuals, especially minors and victims of violence.
Use of AI and automation
AI tools may assist in transcription, translation, or technical processing.
AI does not replace editorial judgment, investigation, or fact-checking.
Any AI-generated or assisted media is labeled accordingly and reviewed by editors before publication.
Photo and video integrity
Images or videos are not digitally altered in misleading ways.
Captions provide context; third-party assets are used under license or fair use.
Community engagement
Reader comments are moderated under the comments policy.
Hate speech, harassment, or spam will not be tolerated.
2. Corrections and Updates
Commitment to accuracy: We correct errors quickly and transparently.
Minor edits: Spelling or grammar fixes that do not affect meaning may be made without notice.
Substantive corrections
Factual errors are corrected with a clear note at the end of the article, such as: "Correction [date]: A previous version misstated ..."
Major updates receive a new timestamp and, where appropriate, an explanatory note.
How to request a correction
Email us at editor@AlSourya.com with the article URL, correction details, and supporting evidence.
Requests are reviewed by an editor within 48 hours.
Right of reply
We fairly consider responses or clarifications from individuals or organizations mentioned in our coverage.
