Zamalek is the champion of the Egyptian league for the 15th time in its history

Zamalek won the Egyptian Premier League title for the current season 2025/2026 after a fierce three-way struggle until the last moments.
Zamalek clinched the league title with a 1-0 win over its guest Ceramica Cleopatra, to achieve the title for the 15th time in its history, and the first since its last crowning in the 2021/2022 season.
The White Knight raised its score to 56 points in the lead, only two points ahead of second-place Pyramids, who narrowly beat Smouha 2-1 in a match held at the same time.
In a third match, Al-Ahly defeated Al-Masry Al-Port Said by a score of 2-0 in a match held at Borg Al-Arab Stadium, to end the season in third place with 53 points, and to participate in the African Confederation Cup.
As for Zamalek, the champion of the league and its runner-up Pyramids, they guaranteed participation in the next edition of the African Champions League.
Cancelled Palestinian goal
At Cairo Stadium, Zamalek took the lead with an early goal scored by Palestinian striker Uday Al-Dabbagh after eight minutes, with a powerful left-footed shot from inside the box.
In the first seconds of the second half, Angolan Chico Panza scored a second goal for Zamalek, as he snatched the ball from the defender and evaded goalkeeper Mohamed Bassam, and shot into the empty goal.
However, VAR intervened by cancelling the goal due to a foul against Chicobanza.
The excitement continued in the match with a penalty kick for Ceramica, which was shot by Moroccan Ahmed Belhaj, but Zamalek keeper Mohamed Awad saved it to keep his team clean.
Zamalek had enough of a draw to officially crown the league title, to regain the championship that was absent from its coffers four years ago, and to return to participate in the African Champions League after participating in the CAF Confederation Cup in the last three seasons.
Zamalek also reconciled its fans after the shock of losing the Confederation Cup title by defeating Algiers on penalties against Union Algiers in the final match, last Saturday.
Zamalek regained its credibility from Ceramica, which knocked them out of the round of 16 of the Egyptian Cup this season, leaving Ceramica's balance frozen at 44 points in fourth place.
