With the increasing intensity of the domestic gas crisis. Syrian Petroleum announces the arrival of two new gas tankers

Syrian cities are witnessing a severe crisis in the provision of domestic gas, with the first days of the holy month of Ramadan, where long queues and unprecedented crowds extended in front of distribution centers, amid popular demands for urgent intervention to end the suffering of citizens who wait for hours to get a single cylinder.

Activists and news websites circulated videos showing hundreds of gas cylinders lined up in the streets of Damascus, its countryside and a number of other governorates. Citizens are forced to wait in difficult weather conditions, hoping to get their needs, which has increased the living pressures during the holy month.

IN THE CONTEXT OF THE GOVERNMENT'S INTERVENTION TO ALLEVIATE THIS CRISIS, THE SYRIAN PETROLEUM COMPANY ANNOUNCED THE ARRIVAL OF TWO NEW GAS TANKERS, GAZ MILANO AND MARKO MARULIC, TO THE BANIAS OIL DOWNSTREAM WITH A TOTAL LOAD OF 6793,948 METRIC TONS, IN ORDER TO ENHANCE DOMESTIC GAS SUPPLY AND SUPPLY STABILITY.

The deputy CEO of the Syrian Oil Company, Ahmed Kobbaji, said that domestic gas supplies continue with the arrival of new tankers to the Baniyas oil port, with the aim of overcoming the current crisis.

The Syrian Petroleum Company had earlier attributed the gas crisis to the weather conditions, and the impact on the infrastructure of the estuaries, which are about 75 years old, in addition to logistical challenges in storage due to the small tanks and some of them were damaged, pointing to the company's plans to equip new tanks to raise storage capacity and avoid future supply crises.
