with a weekly flight . "Fly Sham" launches its first flights between Damascus and Tripoli

On Saturday, Flycham Airlines operated its first direct flights from Damascus International Airport to Mitiga Airport in the Libyan capital, Tripoli. This step comes within the framework of the airline's efforts to activate the brotherly ties between the two countries and open new horizons for joint cooperation in the economic, commercial and tourism fields.

Strengthening cooperation and developing relations

Osama Sateh, the company's development and public relations consultant,  explained in a statement that the opening of this line represents an air bridge that contributes to expanding the fields of development and developing tourism relations between Syria and Libya.

For his part, the Chargé d'Affaires of the Libyan Embassy in Syria, Walid Ammar, considered that the launch of the trip represents a fundamental opportunity for the return of relations to normal, stressing that there are multiple agreements that are currently being activated to serve the interests of the two brotherly peoples.

For his part, the company's sales manager, Burhan Bayrakdar, pointed out that direct flights will facilitate the travel of Syrians residing in Libya and wishing to visit their homeland, as well as encourage tourist movement from the Libyan side. Bayrakdar indicated that the flights will start at a rate of one flight per week (every Saturday), with plans to increase the number of flights in the future according to the volume of demand.

Strategic Expansion Plan

For his part, Commercial Director Hamdi Khalaf confirmed that the operation of the Damascus-Tripoli line comes within the company's well-studied expansion plan, which aims to serve the Syrian communities and stimulate the traffic of visitors.

Gina Atallah, from the Aviation Services Office, pointed out that the new route provides flexible passenger options and suitable solutions to meet the growing needs of air transport.

It is noteworthy that this development follows talks held last Friday between the head of the Syrian General Authority for Ports and Customs, Qutaiba Badawi, and the chargé d'affaires of the Libyan embassy, to discuss ways to enhance trade exchange. FlySham Aviation is a newly established company in partnership with the Syrian and Emirati countries, which aims to be the first private carrier to connect Syrian cities to strategic destinations in the Arabian Gulf, such as Dubai, Riyadh, and Doha, in addition to expanding to the Arab Maghreb countries.
