Water Resources in Tartous sends technical reinforcements to face the repercussions of the collapse of the "Al-Siha" berm in Aleppo countryside

The Directorate of Water Resources in Tartous sent technical reinforcements and heavy machinery to the southern countryside of Aleppo to participate in containing the damage resulting from the collapse of the "Al-Siha" berm and the direct threat it posed to agricultural lands and property.
This step came in the context of the Public Water Resources Authority's plan to raise readiness and provide immediate support to the affected area within the framework of a rapid response aimed at reducing the repercussions and preventing the worsening of the water situation.
Upon arrival, the technical staff began their work on the ground without delay, as they carried out operations to lift the shoulders of the drains, isolate the drainage channels and treat the water bottlenecks that threaten to flood large areas of agricultural lands.
These moves come as part of a state of alert announced by the Public Authority for Water Resources, after intensive field coordination between the sub-directorates with the aim of strengthening the damaged berms and controlling the flood wave in order to restore stability to the water situation in the area.
