The Chairman of the Supreme Committee for the Elections of the People's Assembly, Dr. Mohammed Taha Al-Ahmad, issued Decision No. 10 of 2026, which includes the opening of voting in the electoral centers in Raqqa and Tabqa tomorrow, Tuesday, March 17, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
The second article of the decree stipulates that voting will be extended by one hour only in the event that the minimum percentage of votes required for voting is not achieved, after which the ballot boxes will be closed regardless of the percentage of voters, so that the counting of votes will take place immediately after the electoral process and the release of the results.
The subcommittee, legal observers, candidates in the electoral district and the authorized media are allowed to attend the counting process.
Article 3 stipulates that candidates in both electoral districts must attend polling stations at 8:30 a.m. on polling day.
Regarding the voting process, the spokesman of the Supreme Committee for the Elections of the Syrian People's Assembly, Nawar Najmeh, stated that the ballot boxes will be opened tomorrow, Tuesday, in the districts of Raqqa and Tabqa to elect 4 members of the People's Assembly, stressing that at the end of the elections, the preliminary results will be announced and the door for appeals against the results of the electoral process will be opened for one day.
