Manchester United coach Michael Carrick has kept the door open for the possibility of English striker Marcus Rashford returning to the team, in light of the continued uncertainty about his future with Barcelona, explaining that the player's situation is still open to all possibilities, and that decisions regarding his future will be made in due course.
In a statement quoted by PA Media, Carrick said that such files need to be carefully considered before a decision is made, adding: "These are timely decisions on specific matters, and Marcos clearly represents this type of position."
Carrick also pointed out that there are no final developments yet, stressing that nothing has been decided so far, and will undoubtedly be decided when the time comes, but at this stage there is nothing to say.
Carrick's comments come at a time when Barcelona are hesitant to activate Rashford's €30 million buyout clause, as the Englishman moved to the Catalan side in the summer of 2025 on loan in the hope of restoring his usual form in La Liga.
