Two Palestinians killed and others wounded by settlers' gunfire in Ramallah

The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced that two Palestinians  were killed by Israeli settlers in the town of Deir Jarir, north of Ramallah.

The ministry confirmed that three  other people were seriously  injured following the attack carried out by settlers on the town. The Palestinian Red Crescent Society reported that its crews dealt with a serious injury in the abdomen and another of a 55-year-old citizen who underwent cardiopulmonary resuscitation while he was being transferred to the hospital.

According to local sources, Israeli forces fired at an ambulance while it was carrying one of the wounded. An eyewitness told AFP that settlers, protected by the Israeli army and police, stormed the village's old area, searched homes and livestock pens, assaulted residents and stole sheep. The witness explained that the villagers tried to repel the attack, which led to shooting at the youths and the outbreak of clashes.

Launching a new settlement project and escalating attacks in the West Bank

The Anti-Wall and Settlement Commission revealed that the so-called "Israel Land Authority" has proposed  a new plan to establish 342 new settlement units in the settlement of "Ariel" on the lands of the Salfit governorate.

The Authority explained that the opening of the door for receiving bids will continue until August 31 to implement a multi-storey building. The Authority warned of the danger of this project, whose preliminary plans were approved on May 25, 2025, noting that the occupation published 12 settlement tenders that included 1138 housing units and commercial and industrial facilities during the first half of 2026.

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) confirmed that Israeli settler violence in the West Bank has recorded record rates.

Official sources indicated that the settler groups burned a mosque and two houses in the town of Tawana in Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron, in addition to releasing herds of cows in cultivated lands in Khallet al-Hummus and the village of Minya, east of Bethlehem.

A group of settlers stormed the archaeological site in the town of Sebastia, northwest of Nablus, under heavy protection, in conjunction with the organization of a vigil of clerics demanding the site's inclusion on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Widespread Arrests and Ongoing Violations in Gaza

In the Gaza Strip,  Israeli forces carried out a campaign of incursions and arrests in various areas in Qalqilya, Nablus, Jenin, Hebron, Ramallah and Bethlehem.

The forces arrested three citizens from a workshop in the village of Immatin, east of Qalqilya, and six other citizens in the city of Qalqilya, in addition to arresting a citizen from Masafer Yatta, two young men from Qabatiya, and three others from Al-Mughayyir. The Israeli army handed over notices to stop work and construction in facilities in the eastern area of Jenin.

In the Gaza Strip, the Israeli army continued its violations of the ceasefire agreement. The Gaza Health Ministry said that 3 dead and 22 injured reached hospitals within 24 hours as a result of the sporadic targeting.

One Palestinian was killed  and 10 others were  wounded  in shelling targeting the tents of displaced people in Mawasi Khan Younis, while three Palestinians were killed in artillery shelling targeting the Zaytoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City.

The Ministry explained that the total death toll in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, reached 73,283 dead and 173,864 injured.
