Trump: We will strike Iran today and if Israel had not existed

US President Donald Trump said on Wednesday evening that "without him, Israel would not exist", claiming that negotiations with Iran are "progressing excellently".

This came in a brief statement made by Trump, to the official Israeli broadcaster, shortly after he spoke of the United States' intention to "strike Iran today (Wednesday)."

Trump told the broadcaster that negotiations with Iran were "progressing excellently," without giving further details.

Earlier Wednesday, Trump told reporters at the White House: "We will strike Iran hard again today," noting that it "should have signed the agreement, and that the agreement that Washington is working on is good and meaningful."

Trump pointed out that the United States seeks to prevent Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon, accusing the Iranian leadership of procrastinating in negotiations despite the nearness of reaching a deal.

"The 2015 agreement allowed Iran to have a nuclear weapon, while the current agreement aims to block the way to that," Trump said, adding that "Tehran continues to procrastinate and continue to take advantage of the United States."

Asked if the attacks would target Iran's infrastructure and bridges, he replied: "We can do it."

Iran: This time the war will not be limited to the region

Iranian President Masoud Bezshakian said on Wednesday that his US counterpart Donald Trump's threat to target Iran's critical infrastructure is evidence of impotence.

In a post published on the platform of the American company "X", in response to Trump's threats, Bezshkian pointed out that "critical infrastructure is the lifeblood of the people."

"The threat to target critical infrastructure is not a show of force, but a sign of impotence in the face of the will of the people," he said,  stressing that Iran will withstand all forms of pressure and threats.

In addition, the head of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee in the Iranian parliament, Ebrahim Azizi, warned that the war on his country if it resumes this time will not be limited to the region.

This came in a post published on the "X" platform, on Wednesday, in response to threats to the United States to launch a new strong strike on Iran on Wednesday.

Azizi said his country is not afraid to fight what he described as "losers," referring to the Americans and their Israeli allies.

"The number of American coffins will be much larger than (US President Donald) Trump said, and more and more, because this time the war will not be limited to the region. We'll see what happens."
