Trump: Iran wants a deal. Tehran denies Bazeshkian's resignation

US President Donald Trump said at dawn on Monday (June 1st) that Iran does indeed want to conclude a deal with the United States, stressing that any potential deal would be "good for Washington and those who stand with it."

"It's hard for him to negotiate with Iran with all the political commentary on the conflict," Trump wrote on Truth Social, adding, "It's much harder for me to do my job properly and negotiate, when the political chuckles continue to 'gossip' passively at unprecedented levels, over and over again, that I have to move faster, or slower, or go to war, or not go to war, or whatever."

"Just sit back and relax, everything will end well in the end – as always."

Trump said on Friday he would soon make a decision on a proposed deal to extend the ceasefire with Iran.

Iran's presidency denies Bazeshkian's resignation, confirms leadership cohesion

Iran's presidency on Monday (June 1st) denied the resignation of President Massoud Bazshkian from his post after allegations surfaced that he had lost power to the Revolutionary Guards.

Mehdi Tabatabaei, assistant to the Iranian president for public relations, stressed that "Iranian President Masoud Bazeshkian will not take a single step back from serving the people, nor will the Iranian people step down from the path of solidarity and resistance."

Tabatabaei stressed on the "X" platform, "The enemies will die in their anger and their wish to break the national unity of the Iranians will not be fulfilled."

Government spokeswoman Fatima Mohajerani denied the allegations in a post on X, stressing that "the president remains committed to performing his duties and dealing with the country's challenges."

Iranian Foreign Ministry: Ceasefire in Lebanon is part of any agreement

The Iranian Foreign Ministry stressed that negotiation does not mean trust between the parties to the dialogue, noting that the other side changes its positions and puts forward new and contradictory demands, which leads to the prolongation of the negotiations.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry added that it has not conducted any negotiations on the details of the nuclear file at this stage, stressing that the focus is currently on ending the war.

It noted that it is closely monitoring developments and will take the necessary measures to defend Iran's sovereignty,  stressing that the ceasefire in Lebanon is part of any agreement to end the war.

Messages through Pakistan warn against targeting Dahiya

Lebanese sources revealed urgent international contacts with the participation of Pakistani and American parties, against the backdrop of Iranian messages conveyed to Washington via Islamabad, warning that any Israeli escalation against Beirut, especially the southern suburbs, could directly threaten the course of US-Iranian understandings.

The information indicated that Tehran was informed that the targeting of Beirut "may push the region towards a very dangerous phase," while international efforts to prevent escalation are intensifying hours before what is described  as "fateful" for the region.

This morning, a massive displacement was recorded from the southern suburbs of Beirut, after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered to attack targets there, which he claimed was a response to  repeated violations of the ceasefire in Lebanon by Hezbollah.
