The President chairs the meeting of the Supreme Council of Education

President Ahmed Al-Sharaa chaired today a meeting of the Supreme Council of Education at the People's Palace in Damascus.

During the meeting, they discussed the progress of the educational process and preparations for the upcoming exams, in addition to discussing ways to develop the educational system by enhancing coordination between the Ministries of Education, Higher Education and Endowments.

The meeting dealt with updating curricula and study plans, and upgrading the quality of education in line with the requirements of the stage and contributing to building qualified national competencies.

Decree of the Council of Events

In August  2025, President Al-Sharia issued Decree No. (148) of 2025 to form the Supreme Council for Education, with the aim of unifying educational references, coordinating educational policies, adopting modern and advanced educational curricula, and supporting qualified educational cadres.

The Council includes the Ministers of Higher Education, Education, Endowments, and Culture, the Head of the Advisory Office for Religious Affairs, the President of the Planning and Statistics Commission, in addition to three experts in education and a legal expert, headed by the President of the Republic or his delegate.
