The occupation army infiltrates with dozens of soldiers in the lands of Ovania and Khan Arnabeh

On the evening of Monday, May 11, an Israeli occupation force penetrated  between the village of Ovania and the town of Khan Arnabeh in the northern countryside of Quneitra.

The Quneitra Information Directorate said the force, which consists of several military vehicles and more than 30 personnel, set up a temporary checkpoint and began searching passers-by before withdrawing without recording any arrests.

Earlier in the day, the Quneitra governorate witnessed an  intensive overflight by Israeli warplanes, in conjunction with the entry of an Israeli army patrol into the main entrance to the towns of Jabatha al-Hashab and Taranga, where it conducted inspections and set up a temporary checkpoint.

Israeli forces also fired several artillery shells towards the agricultural lands around Taranja from the northwest side, without causing any casualties, according to local sources who said the aim was likely to intimidate the population.

An Israeli force set up a military checkpoint at the entrance  to the wooden Jabatha that included about 20 personnel and a number of vehicles, amid a thorough search of passers-by.

Engineering fortifications and expansion of military works

In addition to the incursions,  on 11 May, the Israeli occupation forces laid additional barbed wire in the village of Al-Asha within the buffer zone in the southern countryside of Quneitra, as part of the reinforcement of the "Sufa" line or the ceasefire zone.

Local sources said that the occupation  continued the excavation and fortification work in the Brega area in the southwestern countryside, which the sources say has been going on for weeks and includes a gradual expansion of military points, in addition to bringing prefabricated rooms to the eastern hill of Ahmar.

The sources pointed out that the rocket fire did not result in casualties, and that the Israeli military activity is part of a policy of continuous pressure on the local population in the areas near the barbed wire.

A series of incursions that have been going on since May 9 and 10

On Sunday, May 10, another incursion of the Israeli occupation  forces from the Adnaniya base towards the village of Ruwaihina in the central countryside of Quneitra, where an Israeli patrol set up a temporary checkpoint and searched passers-by before withdrawing without registering any arrests.

On 9 May, an Israeli patrol infiltrated the village of Saida in the southern countryside of Quneitra and arrested a cowherd who was in the area, before releasing him hours later without explaining the reasons.

Local sources confirm that Quneitra governorate has been witnessing a series of incursions, searches and raids for weeks, in addition to the erection of roadblocks and the flight of warplanes over the southern countryside, in light of the continuous expansion of Israeli engineering works and military fortifications.
