The Ministry of Justice exempts people with disabilities from judicial fees and insurances

The Syrian Ministry of Justice issued a circular calling on all courts, judicial departments and offices to fully comply with the exemption of persons with disabilities from judicial fees and insurance in cases filed before courts of all types and degrees, whether they are plaintiffs or defendants.

In the circular published on Friday, the ministry stressed that the exemption includes disability proven under a disability card granted by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor to Syrian citizens and the like, as the official approved document.

The Ministry asked the Judicial Inspection Department and the Public Defenders to monitor the implementation of the provisions of the circular, and to take the necessary measures to follow up on the correct implementation, and to inform it of any violation.

This circular comes within the framework of the Syrian government's commitment to protect the rights of persons with disabilities and ensure their fair and easy access to justice, and grants the holder of the disability card some privileges, facilities and services, or provides financial grants for some cases, especially cases of quadriplegia.
