The Ministry of Finance adopts an electronic mechanism forregistering the disbursement of suspended pensions

The Ministry of Finance announced on Saturday the adoption of a new registration mechanism for the repayment of suspended pensions for a number of categories, according to Finance Minister Mohamed Yousr Barnieh.
Eligible categories include military retirees, civilians whose salaries were withheld during the revolution, military defectors who have reached retirement age, as well as office holders who did not participate in abuses, and military personnel who retired after 2011, as well as the heirs of all those who are entitled.
According to a post by the Minister of Finance on his Facebook page, the mechanism relies on four stages, starting with registration via text message starting from April 1, which includes the basic data of the beneficiary. After the initial check, the registrar receives a personal link to complete the data and upload the documents electronically. In the third stage, a date is set to come to the branch of the General Insurance and Pensions Corporation to prove identity and fingerprint, before the applications in the final stage are referred to the competent authorities for decision and disbursement of benefits.
The Ministry confirmed that the initial stages are completed electronically without the need to visit any government agency, stressing the applicant's responsibility for the accuracy of the data, and the need to use a correct phone number to ensure communication.
The announcement comes after presidential directives to resume the payment of pension salaries to groups whose pensions were suspended, and within the framework of four circulars issued by the ministry in the middle of this month to complete the procedures for allocating pensions.
