The Ministry of Energy reveals the reason for the reduction of electricity supply  hours

  The Syrian Ministry of Energy revealed today that the decrease in the hours of electricity supply at the moment is due to the decrease in the quantities of natural gas supplies coming through Jordan, which are intended for the operation of power plants, in addition to the suspension of pumping them at times.

The ministry said in a statement that this suspension comes as a result of the current regional escalation, and the consequent inability to continue pumping gas temporarily in accordance with previous agreements.

The Ministry confirmed that these conditions are the result of external data, and that the technical teams are currently continuing to manage the electrical system by relying on the local production of available gas, as they organize the feeding hours according to the available capabilities, in order to ensure the stability of the electrical network and the continuity of its work.

She pointed out that it is working in parallel to enhance and increase local production of gas, which contributes to supporting the electricity system and improving the nutrition situation during the next phase.

It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Energy announced on January 8 the start of receiving natural gas for electricity generation in Syria, within the framework of an agreement to purchase gas through the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in a quantity of 4 million cubic meters per day.
