The Israeli occupation forces again penetrate into the countryside of Quneitra

On Monday, May 18, 2026, the Israeli occupation forces infiltrated the Quneitra governorate in southwestern Syria, where they carried out raids and searches of a number of houses.
The Quneitra Media Directorate stated through its official IDs that an Israeli occupation patrol launched a raid and search campaign on some houses in the village of Al-Asha in the countryside of Quneitra, during its incursion into the area.
The directorate published a video documenting the Israeli violation in the village in the central sector to the southwest of Tal al-Faras and north of Tal al-Ahmar , which Israel turned into one of the nine military bases it established in southern Syria after December 2024.
Local sources in the Al-Khashniyah district, to which the village of Al-Asha belongs, told "Syrian News" that a patrol of the ANDUF forces arrived in the village minutes after a patrol belonging to the occupation entered, following urgent appeals and calls from the residents.
According to the sources, the Israeli patrol later withdrew without recording any arrests, while UNDOF only followed up on the situation on the ground within the scope of its tasks on the separation line.
There was no immediate comment from the Syrian authorities on the incursion, as the province witnessed 15 similar operations in one week, including the erection of checkpoints, searches, raids, and artillery shelling, according to Anadolu monitoring.
50 military vehicles infiltrate Quneitra in 6 days
The Israeli occupation army carried out 15 ground incursions in just 6 days, in Quneitra, southern Syria, using more than 50 military vehicles, in movements that were accompanied by artillery shelling, the erection of checkpoints, and search and arrest operations that affected civilians, including children and sheep herders.
Although the timing of the operations varies, the map of the incursions reveals a clear distribution over three geographical ranges stretching from the southern to the northern countryside.
The incursions reached the peak of the incursions in the village of Sidon, which was entered by 7 Israeli vehicles last Thursday morning and arrested a young man before releasing him, and was preceded by another operation on Wednesday, which included a raid on houses.
On the outskirts of Al-Rafid, 3 vehicles entered and interrogated sheep herders, while 3 other vehicles rushed towards the vicinity of Tal Al-Diriyat near Al-Muallaqa, and the road connecting Al-Mashaida, Al-Ma'alqa, Al-Hiran and Al-Rafid witnessed a wide incursion by 5 vehicles on Tuesday.
Syria affirms its adherence to the occupied Golan
Israel declared the collapse of the separation of forces agreement between the two sides since 1974, and occupied the Syrian buffer zone after the fall of the former Syrian regime.
President Ahmed al-Sharaa said in a dialogue session as part of the activities of the Antalya Forum on April 23: "The recognition of Israel's right to the Golan is invalid, because this is the right of the Syrian people, and a country can give up part of its territory if its people agree, but it cannot recognize Israel's right to the lands of others."
He added: "The international community affirms that the Golan is Syrian territory occupied by Israel, and recently 134 countries in the United Nations voted in favor of a resolution confirming that the Golan is Syrian land par excellence and occupied by Israel."
President Al-Sharaa pointed out that Israel is violating the 1974 Disengagement Agreement, and that work is underway to reach a security agreement that guarantees its withdrawal from the territories it occupied after December 8, 2024, its return to the 1974 lines, and the establishment of new rules that reinstate the disengagement agreement or conclude a new agreement that guarantees the security of both parties.
