The Israeli occupation establishes a hospital and clinics west of Damascus

Local sources revealed that the Israeli occupation forces have started building a hospital inside the town of Qalaat Jandal, 45 km northwest of Damascus, in a dangerous development that reflects the occupation's plans towards southern Syria and its lack of intention to withdraw from the territories it occupied after December 2024.
The sources spoke of a great difference in the attitudes of the village elders towards the Israeli violations, and the sources added that the occupation was not limited to the hospital project in Jandal Castle, but had previously established medical clinics in the town of Raymah in the Jabal al-Sheikh area, in parallel with providing food and medical aid to the residents of a number of villages.
Since the political change in Syria (the fall of the Assad regime) on December 8, 2024, the Israeli occupation has worked to infiltrate the Syrian territories adjacent to the occupied Syrian Golan and the villages of Jabal al-Sheikh by setting up temporary military checkpoints in addition to providing food and medical aid.
Statement affirming adherence to Syrian identity
The religious body in the town of Qalaat Jandal issued a statement in which it affirmed the adherence of the town's residents to the Syrian national identity and belonging to the Syrian state, and its rejection of any individual positions that do not express them or contradict their national and social constants.
The statement came after a meeting of the Commission dedicated to discussing the general and social conditions in the area, as it stressed that what was stated in it reflects the position of the majority of the people of Jandal Castle.
The Commission stressed its adherence to the national orientation and belonging to Syria, and its rejection of any attempts to distort or abuse this affiliation, calling for building relations with the various citizens of the country on the basis of respect for rights, good neighborliness and joint cooperation.
She stressed that her activity is limited to religious and social aspects, including the promotion of moral values, reform among the people and the consolidation of civil peace, noting that she does not engage in any political affair that does not serve the public or national interest.
The Commission announced that it is not responsible for any individual positions or statements that contradict what is stated in the statement or do not comply with the aspirations of the people of the region to maintain security and stability.
The statement concluded with the signature of a number of the town's sheikhs and members of the religious body, in a letter affirming the adherence of Jandal Castle to its Syrian identity and the rejection of any trends that deviate from the civil consensus or are exploited in the context of the developments in southern Syria.
Documentation of 239 violations of the occupation in southern Syria
During the past month, southern Syria witnessed a remarkable escalation in the pace of Israeli violations, after the relative decline recorded in May, where a total of 239 violations were documented, an increase of nearly 17% compared to the previous month.
The "Sijl" center, which specializes in monitoring and following up on Israeli violations, stated that raids topped the scene in southern Syria as the most frequent pattern, rising from 19 to 28 raids, the highest number since the beginning of 2025.
The center pointed out that the ground incursions of the Israeli occupation have increased from 64 to at least 87, in addition to the continued establishment of temporary checkpoints and intensive aerial flights, in addition to artillery shelling on civilian and agricultural areas in the countryside of Daraa and Quneitra.

The escalation reached its peak in the village of Abdeen in the western countryside of Daraa on 27 and 28 June, where the occupation forces carried out a large-scale operation that included ground incursions and the establishment of temporary positioning points, punctuated by limited clashes with local residents, followed by artillery shelling and shooting from a military helicopter, which led to the displacement of hundreds of civilians.
Local sources pointed out that the occupation forces went beyond the traditional security inspection procedures to collect population data and carry out a population survey and a field questionnaire, in a step that analysts interpreted as a dangerous development and escalation, in addition to targeting the educational process by detaining the buses of basic certificate students between Maariya and Abdeen.
Local reports documented the Israeli occupation forces bulldozing dozens of dunums in addition to installing an iron gate west of the town of Al-Rafid, about 300 meters inside Syrian territory, which led to the gnawing of nearly a thousand dunums of agricultural land.
