The Israeli occupation "converts" a new hill into a military base in Quneitra

The Israeli occupation forces brought a bulldozer of 3 trucks loaded with prefabricated rooms to the area of Tal al-Ahmar al-Sharqi in the southern countryside of Quneitra, in a move that raised the residents' concern about the establishment of a new military post in the area.

Local sources told Syria TV that the trucks transported 3 prefabricated rooms to the site, amid estimates that these moves are aimed at establishing a new military post, which may contribute to strengthening the Israeli military presence in the area.

The sources added that the occupation forces intensified their deployment in the eastern Tal Ahmar area, through continuous patrols, without recording any cases of arrest or assault against the residents until the moment of writing this news.

These developments come in light of a continuous escalation in the vicinity of Tal al-Ahmar, where the occupation forces have been stationed in the opposite western Tal al-Ahmar since December 2024, and have taken it as a military base.

Residents point out that eastern Tel al-Ahmar is frequently subjected to shelling, in addition to frequent Israeli military patrols, as well as the raising of the occupation flag over it, which reinforces fears of establishing a permanent presence in the area.

9 bases belonging to the Israeli occupation in Syria

Since the fall of the former regime in Syria, the Israeli occupation army has established 9 military bases in southern Syria, which are used as staging stations for incursions and raids on civilian homes.

The recent period witnessed the establishment of the Hamidiyah base, which is one of the most prominent bases within this military deployment, as part of strengthening field control and expanding the scope of movements in the area.

The Israeli bases are distributed in locations of military importance, including the Talul al-Hamr base, which enables the occupation forces to monitor most of the areas of Quneitra up to the borders of Daraa, in addition to the bases of Jabata al-Khashb, Ant Dick, Qahtaniya, Koudna, Abdeen, and Ma'riya, in addition to an observation point in the foothills of Jabal al-Sheikh.

Israel Turns Golan Settlements into Cities

On April 17, the Israeli government announced the approval of a five-year plan (2026-2030) to promote settlement in the occupied Golan Heights, with a budget of about $334 million, according to Israeli media.

The plan aims at what Israeli media have called the "development" of settlements in the occupied Golan, on top of which is the transformation of the settlement of "Kasserine" into the first city in the region, in addition to attracting thousands of new settlers in the coming years.

The plan includes transforming the town of Kasserine into the first city in the Golan, in addition to implementing projects in the fields of infrastructure, housing, public services, and education, and the decision includes investing in "economic growth engines", developing the academic and service sectors in an effort to attract thousands of new families to the area, and transforming the Golan into a center of demographic and economic growth.

During President Donald Trump's first term in office in 2019, the United States recognized Israel's sovereignty over the occupied Syrian Golan, although this decision did not receive wide international recognition, in light of the area being considered occupied Syrian territory according to international law.
