The Family Court settles the alimony file between Ahmed Ezz and Zeina

The Family Court of Appeal in Cairo upheld the ruling issued to oblige the artist Ahmed Ezz to pay 30 thousand Egyptian pounds per month as a maid wage for his twin children from the artist Zeina.

The court rejected Ezz's petition to cancel the decision, so that the judgment becomes final and enforceable, reducing the value of the monthly alimony from 80 thousand Egyptian pounds to  60 thousand Egyptian pounds, and obliging him to pay the tuition fees of the twins for the academic year 2022/2023, which amounted to 23 thousand Egyptian pounds.

Dispute since 2014

The dispute between the two parties began in 2014 when Zeina filed a lawsuit to prove the parentage of her two children, after Ezz denied having a marital relationship, and in 2015 the court ruled that the parentage was proven, a ruling that formed the legal basis for a series of subsequent lawsuits related to alimony, expenses, and care.

In 2017, Zeina obtained a ruling of khula, after which the financial disputes between the two parties continued, as Zeina demanded expenses commensurate with Ezz's income and artistic wages, while the latter tried to reduce the obligations imposed on him through successive appeals, most of which were rejected by the courts.

The latest ruling is an extension of a judicial process that has been going on for more than a decade, which has been at the forefront of media attention due to the nature of its parties and the multiplicity of cases associated with it.

A shy shared art history

The joint artistic history between Ezz andZeina was limited to only two films, after the first project in 2001 for the film "Memoirs of a Teenager" was not completed due to Zeina's withdrawal before filming began.

Their first real collaboration came in 2007 with the film "The Ghost", where they shared the film starring and the work was a huge success at the box office.

The  second and last meeting between them was renewed in 2012 in the film "Al-Maslaha" starring Ahmed Al-Sakka and Ahmed Ezz, in which Zeina embodied a secondary role as the wife of Ezz'  s character, and after the outbreak of personal and judicial disputes between the two parties in 2014, any artistic cooperation between them was permanently stopped, and the two stars imposed a complete professional and media break that continues until now.
