
Syrian-Jordanian Talks in Amman to Enhance Cooperation and Joint Coordination

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Asaad Al-Shaibani discussed with his Jordanian counterpart, Ayman Safadi, in Amman on Saturday, bilateral relations and ways to enhance cooperation between Syria and Jordan in various fields.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said in a statement published on its official Telegram channel that Al-Shaibani met with Safadi in Amman, noting that the two ministers held extensive talks on a number of common issues, and the meeting also addressed bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries and ways to enhance cooperation in various fields.
In turn, the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement published on its account on the "X" platform that during the meeting, the two ministers discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, and stressed the importance of the continuous development of brotherly relations, and the need to continue joint efforts to expand cooperation in various fields, which will reflect positively on the interests of the two brotherly countries.
According to the Jordanian Foreign Ministry, the two ministers discussed the ongoing preparations between the foreign ministries of the two brotherly countries to prepare for the second session of the Higher Coordination Council between the two brotherly countries.
Safadi stressed the Kingdom's firm position in supporting the Syrian government in its efforts to protect Syria's security, stability, sovereignty and territorial integrity, and ensure the safety of its citizens.
The two ministers reiterated their condemnation of Israel's repeated attacks and raids on Syria and its interventions in Syria, which constitute a flagrant violation of international law, an assault on Syria's sovereignty, and a violation of the 1974 Syria-Israel Disengagement Agreement.
The two ministers also discussed, according to the statement, the dangerous escalation in the region, and reiterated their condemnation of Iran's unprovoked aggressions against Jordan and the brotherly Arab Gulf states, and stressed the need for diplomacy to adopt a way to resolve crises on the basis of respecting the sovereignty, security and stability of states in accordance with international law.
Safadi and Al-Shaibani agreed to continue consultation and sustain cooperation between the two countries in various fields, and to coordinate on issues of common interest
