
Syrian Grains Starts Receiving Wheat through the Electronic Platform

The Syrian Grains Corporation has started the procurement and receipt of the wheat crop for the current season in Daraa Governorate through the Izraa Silo Center, after completing the technical and logistical readiness necessary to receive the crop and organizing marketing operations through an electronic platform dedicated to booking roles in advance.
The Director General of the Corporation, Eng. Hassan Othman, confirmed in a statement on Tuesday, June 2nd, that the receipts were well underway, pointing out that all farmers who marketed their crop on the first day were registered through the electronic platform approved for this season, which mainly aims to organize receipts, facilitate procedures, and reduce the congestion surrounding silos and centers.
Harvest Receipt Begins in Tartous and Raqqa
In this context, the director of the Foundation's branch in Tartous, Eng. Mahmoud Shibli, explained that the Annabiya Center in turn started receiving the crop as one of the first branches supplied, indicating that the introduction of the electronic booking step by sending text messages to farmers accurately determined their attendance dates contributed to enhancing transparency and reducing burdens.
In Raqqa, the Governorof Ha Abdul Rahman Salameh held an extensive meeting that included the Director of Agriculture Mohammed Al-Ahmad and the President of the Farmers' Union, where they announced the launch of the platform for the first time in the province to regulate the supply, discussing at the same time the demands of farmers to provide fertilizers, increase the allocation of fuel for harvests, and set clear pricing policies for wheat and cotton to be announced before the planting seasons to achieve the required economic feasibility.
Enhancing readiness in Al-Hasakah
The Syrian Grains Corporation also announced that it is enhancing the readiness of Al-Hasakah receiving centers with solar energy to raise operational efficiency within the framework of raising operational efficiency and ensuring business continuity.
The Hasakah branch of the Corporation implemented the project of installing solar energy systems and surveillance cameras in all its grain receiving and storage centers .
According to the company, the project aims to ensure the smooth operations of receiving and marketing the wheat crop , ensuring the continuity of the work of the cemeteries and receiving equipment in the event of a power outage , and strengthening the monitoring system and protecting the centers.
She pointed out that the centers covered are Sabah Al-Khair, Al-Milbiyah, Ghuwayran, Al-Hasakah, Tal Hajar, Kabka, Hittin, Amuda, Qamishli silos, Tawarij, Tal Hamis, Tal Maarouf, Al-Qahtaniyah, Tal Alu, Al-Yarubiya, Al-Rumailan, Petra, Al-Malkiya, Ras Al-Ain, Al-Sufah, and Mabrouka.
Opening of Saraqeb warehouses to enhance storage capacity
In Saraqeb, the Syrian General Grains Corporation inaugurated the Saraqeb Grain Warehouse Center in the eastern countryside of Idlib, as part of its vital plan to enhance storage capacity and receive the strategic crop for the 2026 agricultural season.
The inauguration took place in the presence of the Director General of the Corporation, the directors of internal trade and the branch in the Idlib countryside, and a group of dignitaries of the agricultural region, where the new center includes huge warehouses and barns dedicated to storing wheat with a total capacity of 70 thousand tons, which directly contributes to facilitating the affairs of farmers and reducing the long transportation costs for them.
The management of Saraqeb Center indicated the immediate adoption of the pre-booking system through the electronic link to simplify the supply mechanisms.
The technical staff indicated that the receiving procedures are subject to a precise mechanism starting from the weight of the truck through the cabs, through the sampling, examination and classification of the samples in the laboratory to determine the quality grades and build the final price due to the farmer based on them.
A number of farmers at the receiving centers praised the ease of procedures followed and the acceptance of purchase prices, calling for an increase in the subsidy for fuel oil allocated for transportation and mobility to face the high production costs.
Hopes of self-sufficiency and closing the consumption gap
The Syrian Grains Foundation had earlier predicted that wheat production in the current season will reach about 2.5 million tons, based on positive indicators and good reports for the agricultural season that will enhance the chances of achieving self-sufficiency and supporting the pillars of food security in the country.
The director of the corporation revealed that the country's total annual need for the material is estimated at about two million and five hundred thousand tons, pointing out that the quantities currently available in the silos, in addition to the contracts concluded in advance, are approaching the threshold of one million tons.
