

Syria condemned in the strongest terms the attack that targeted the territory of the UAE through three drones, one of which targeted the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant, in a dangerous act that is a flagrant violation of international law and an escalation that threatens the security and stability of the region.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said in a statement on Sunday that Syria reiterates its support for the United Arab Emirates and stresses that the targeting of civilian facilities, especially those related to peaceful nuclear energy, represents a very dangerous escalation.
The ministry reiterated Syria's full solidarity with the United Arab Emirates, stressing that the security and stability of the UAE are part of the security and stability of the entire region.
Background of the attack and regional reactions
Earlier in the day, the UAE authorities announced that a small fire broke out in a generator located outside the internal perimeter of the Barakah nuclear power plant, after it was targeted by a drone out of three that were detected.
The UAE confirmed that the situation was under control and that the repercussions of the attack were dealt with in accordance with the approved safety protocols.
