Syria condemns armed attack on White House correspondents' dinner in Washington

The Syrian Arab Republic has condemned the shooting incident that took place during the White House Correspondents' Dinner in the presence of President Donald Trump of the United States of America.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates affirmed in a statement on Sunday its absolute rejection of the use of all forms of violence, and its full solidarity with the government and people of the United States in the face of terrorist operations.
On Saturday evening, Trump and several senior officials in his administration were evacuated from the annual White House Correspondents' Dinner at the Hilton Hotel after hearing gunfire that sparked chaos and panic, with hundreds of guests forced to take shelter under tables.
The Secret Service announced that the incident took place at the main inspection area of the ceremony in Washington, D.C., and that a suspect had been arrested.
