Syria and Saudi Arabia sign a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the municipal and environmental sector

Syria and Saudi Arabia signed a memorandum of understanding in Riyadh today for cooperation in the fields of the municipal and environmental sector, which contributes to the exchange of experiences on city planning and the development of public services.

The MoU was signed by Minister of Local Administration and Environment Mohammed Anjarani with Saudi Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail.

The MoU aims to enhance human capabilities in the field of municipal administration, enhance cooperation and exchange of experiences between the two sides, and benefit from Saudi experiences in developing municipal work, digital transformation and organizing local services, in order to support efforts to modernize local administration and improve the quality of services provided to citizens.

 

Urban Planning Collaboration

The MoU includes cooperation in urban planning, land and infrastructure, municipal licensing and control, regulation of city operators, investment asset management, proof of ownership, digital transformation and smart cities, and the cooperation is implemented through the exchange of information and experiences, the exchange of visits between experts and specialists, and the organization of conferences, seminars, meetings, courses and joint work sessions.

The Minister of Local Administration and Environment also discussed with the CEO of the Saudi National Real Estate Registration Services Company, Mohammed Al-Sulaiman, to enhance cooperation and exchange experiences in the fields of real estate documentation and digital transformation.

The Minister of Local Administration and Environment began an official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia today to discuss the prospects of cooperation in the fields of local administration, the municipal sector, housing, digital transformation, waste management and environmental recovery.
