Real Madrid stumble against Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter-finals

Real Madrid suffered another defeat at home to Bayern Munich by two goals to one in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals at the Santiago Bernabéu, adding to the disappointment of their fans after falling to Mallorca in La Liga four days ago.

The match was exciting with a fast pace and dramatic twists, as Colombian Luis Diaz opened the scoring for Bayern in the 41st minute, before Harry Kane added the second goal just 20 seconds into the second half, taking advantage of a fatal defensive error.

Despite Real Madrid's attempts to come back, Kylian Mbappe managed to reduce the deficit in the 74th minute, but the brilliance of German goalkeeper Manuel Neuer prevented the equalizer.

With this win, Bayern Munich put a foot forward in the semi-finals, while the second leg in Munich next week remains open to all possibilities.

In another match, Sporting of Portugal lost to Arsenal of England with a clean goal, and the first leg of the quarter-finals will be completed today with the meeting of Barcelona with Atletico Madrid, and Liverpool against Paris Saint-Germain.
