President Al-Shara inaugurates the Syria International Textile Exhibition "NASTEX 2026"

   President Ahmed Al-Sharaa inaugurated today, Saturday, July 18, the first edition of the Syria International Textile Exhibition "NASTEX 2026", which was held at the Conference Palace in Damascus, amid a wide official presence and remarkable participation of international delegations, businessmen, and prominent economic and industrial events.

In his speech during the opening ceremony, President Al-Sharia pointed out that the textile industry tells a part of the story of Syrian history, after it was a mirror of taste for the people of the Levant, from which they learned precision in work, patience and giving, pointing out that the weaving machine was historically called "the loom" because it weaves the cloth and gives it to it, thus summarizing the meaning of victory after patience and hard work.

Al-Sharaa added that the manufacture of cloth in the Levant has been a living ambassador for all parts of the earth, and the economy has been built on it, trade has flourished, roads have been built, and roads have been named after it and the Rukban is the destination, stressing that during this occasion, we will seek to revive what the tyrants tried to bury, and to rebuild the present based on the ancient historical heritage.

 

The Syrian Fabric is an Ambassador of Civilization

President Al-Sharia said  that Syria embroidered time with tales of glory and elevation through weaving and industry, and the warp and weft were intertwined in every era by the hands of the skilled to weave the carpet of the homeland and its armor that protects the people from the vicissitudes of the age, and he talked about the crossing of the arts of Aleppo and Damascus from Damas to the broccard as a tune that reverberates in the palaces of kings and sultans to fill their councils with scarves of flowers and joy.

Al-Shara stressed that what the country is witnessing today at the Syria International Textile Fair represents a good and blessing station for the people, and a creative starting point in the battle to combat poverty and destitution, advance the wheel of reconstruction, and secure thousands of job opportunities and jobs for the people, stressing that the current work focuses on weaving the story of civil peace, national unity, balanced diplomacy, security stability, and economic growth so that Syria can return as it was a source of creativity and an incubator for people of know-how, training and skilled hands.

President Al-Shara explained that the country is also famous for the manufacture of sharp Damascus swords in addition to the soft touches of silk and fabrics, indicating that Syrian politics is characterized by combining the sharpness and softness that it is famous for to give everyone their due, and concluded his speech by promising the people and the world by embroidering peace paintings, weaving carpets of capacity, and weaving poems for those who exchange the sincerity of feelings and intentions in the country.

 

Direct economic communication with the participation of 25 Arab and foreign countries

The organizational data of the exhibition, which officially kicked off at the Exhibition City and the Conference Palace in Damascus, revealed that the first edition of the exhibition succeeded in attracting and attracting more than 300 exhibiting companies specialized in the textile sector and related industries, representing more than 25 Arab and foreign countries.

The organizers stressed that the international exhibition is an ideal and direct opportunity to open channels of communication and trade exchange between manufacturers, suppliers and industry experts coming from the countries of the Middle East, Europe, Asia and Africa, in addition to stimulating the movement of Syrian exports and securing new investment contracts that support the stability of the business sector.

Following the official opening ceremony and the delivery of dedicated speeches, President Al-Shara conducted an extensive field tour during which he was briefed on the pavilions participating in the exhibition, and listened to a detailed explanation from those in charge of the exhibits and the international economic delegations about the exhibits and modern technologies used in production.
