
President Al-Shara arrives in the British capital London as part of an official visit

President Ahmed Al-Sharaa arrived in the British capital London on Tuesday, accompanied by a ministerial delegation, as part of an official visit to the United Kingdom, after the end of his official visit to the Federal Republic of Germany.
According to the Information Directorate of the Presidency of the Republic , "President Al-Sharia will meet during the visit with senior officials in Britain to discuss ways to develop bilateral relations and enhance cooperation between the two countries."
Syrian-British relations have witnessed a development since the liberation of the country on December 8, 2024, as President Al-Shara received the United Kingdom Foreign Minister David Lamy in Damascus on July 5, and the meeting discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to enhance cooperation, in addition to regional and international developments.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Asaad Hassan Al-Shaibani, also paid an official visit to the United Kingdom on November 12, during which he met with a number of British officials to discuss the prospects of developing Syrian-British relations, during which the Syrian flag was raised above the Syrian embassy in London, marking the resumption of its official work after a 14-year closure.
President Al-Sharia concluded a formal visit to the Federal Republic of Germany on Monday, during which he met with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and senior officials, and discussed ways to develop bilateral relations and enhance cooperation in various fields.
