Postponement of Syrian pilgrims' flights coming from Madinah

The Syrian Hajj and Umrah Administration announced the postponement of flights coming from Madinah to Syria until further notice, as a result of the security  tensions in the region due to the military escalation between Iran and Israel.

The  Department  said in  a statement published by the Ministry of Awqaf on its official IDs on  Monday,  June 8: "Due to the current circumstances, and in the interest of the safety of our esteemed pilgrims, and based on the instructions issued by the Civil Aviation Authority of the Syrian Arab Republic and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, it has been decided to postpone all flights scheduled for tomorrow, Monday (June 8, 2026) from Madinah to Aleppo and Damascus airports, until further notice."

The department added in its statement that "all the necessary services will be provided to pilgrims during the postponement period, to ensure their comfort and safety, and they will be informed of the dates of new trips or approved alternatives as soon as updates are received and approved by the competent authorities."

The administration called on all pilgrims to cooperate with supervisors and field committees, and to obtain news and instructions from the official channels approved exclusively.

The statement of the Hajj and Umrah Department comes in light of the current regional developments and the precautionary measures it imposes to ensure the safety of civil aviation movement, as dozens of  Iranian and Israeli missiles crossed Syrian airspace during the past few hours in the context of a military escalation that Iran said comes in response to Israel's bombardment of the southern suburbs of the Lebanese capital, Beirut.
