Pentagon Documents on 'UFOs' Mysterious Flash Over Syria Raises Interest

The US Department of War (Pentagon) on Friday released a second batch of declassified documents and videos related to what is known as "unspecified aerial phenomena" (UAPs), a move that received wide media and scientific attention, especially as it included exceptional recordings of the observation of one of these objects in Syrian airspace.
Syria Footage: SuperSpeed Simulation of Science Fiction
A video filmed over Syria in 2021 has garnered widespread attention from analysts and experts, as the recording showed a UFO moving through the atmosphere at breakneck speed and has been described as "instantaneous", mimicking the speed jumps in science fiction movies.
The nature of the object's motion or aerodynamics was not familiar to observers, as it showed the ability to accelerate suddenly and take off without leaving conventional traces of engines or exhausts, making it the highlight of the new batch of files released, and opening the door to technical and military questions about what technology was observed in that area about five years ago.
Second Installment Details
The new batch complements what the Pentagon began earlier this month, when it published 162 classified files that received a record follow-up and exceeded 1 billion visits to its government website. The current collection includes more than 50 additional videos and documents from decades ago, including first-hand testimonies from military and civilian personnel about their sightings of unexplained aerial phenomena.
Another controversial clip is a recording from October 2022 at an undisclosed location, showing a longitudinal object resembling a "cigar" moving very quickly over an area of a residential nature, confirming the diversity of the geometric shapes of these objects and their departure from the stereotype of "flying saucers."
A mysterious technology with no external origin
Despite the excitement generated by the clips, especially the video of the Syrian airspace, the Pentagon refrained from attaching any official explanations or final analyses of the nature of these objects.
The Pentagon's Office of Multidisciplinary Anomaly Resolution (AARO) reiterated its earlier assertions, noting that thorough investigations into thousands of written and photographic reports and testimonies have so far yielded no concrete evidence that these objects have extraterrestrial origin, suggesting other hypotheses related to sophisticated technological tests or fully undiscovered visual and atmospheric phenomena.
Historical FBI Memos and Details of Sightings
These recent reports intersect with top-secret historical documents released by the Pentagon and the FBI, one of which dates back to October 1966. The memo, whose contents were described as "out of this world," reveals a record surge in reports of UFO sightings during 1965, including unfamiliar eyewitness testimonies who reported seeing crews descend from the vehicles, described as short creatures between three and four in length feet, wearing spacesuit-like costumes and helmets, proving that the official debate over these phenomena stretches back decades.
In the same documentary context, the newly released files focused on studies and testimonies documenting the physical properties of these objects, referring to them as polished metal compounds that radiate heat and light in colors ranging from brilliant white to glowing orange. The documents also identified three main geometric shapes on which ancient American investigations were based, namely longitudinal objects resembling balloons, metal disks, and elliptical objects, which are geometric and kinetic patterns that experts and analysts are currently trying to link to recent observations observed in Syrian skies and recently opened files.
