Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich's first leg of the Champions League semi-final turned into one of the most exciting matches in the history of the tournament, with nine goals to end with the French side winning 5-4, a result that makes the second leg at the Allianz Arena open to all possibilities.
Harry Kane scored the goals of the match for Bayern Munich in the 17th minute from the penalty spot, before Kvecha Kvaratskhelia equalized for Paris Saint-Germain in the 24th minute.
Joao Neves added the second goal for the French team in the 33rd minute, then Michael Ulysses equalized for Bayern in the 41st minute. Paris returned to the lead through Ousmane Dembele from a penalty kick in the 45+5th minute.
In the second half, Kvaratskhelia extended the gap with a fourth goal in the 56th minute, before Dembele added the fifth goal in the 58th minute. Bayern reduced the deficit through Dayo Upamecano in the 65th minute, and then Luis Diaz in the 68th minute.
Fiery start and early ups and downs
Bayern Munich opened the scoring in the 17th minute through Harry Kane from the penalty spot and confidently placed it in the right corner after a blocking inside the area.
PSG did not wait long to respond, as Kvajja Kvaratskhelia equalised in the 24th minute after evading more than one defender and firing a curling shot into the far corner.
The match continued its high tempo, as Joao Neves scored the second goal for Paris in the 33rd minute with a powerful header after a corner kick from Ousmane Dembele.
But Bayern came back through Michael Ulysses in the 41st minute after a deep pass from Aleksandar Pavlovic.
In first-half stoppage time (45+5), Paris regained the lead through Ousmane Dembele from a penalty that was counted after a review of video technology, and the first half ended 3-2 for the hosts.
French explosion at the start of the second half

As the second half began, Paris Saint-Germain continued their high pressure, with Kvaratskhelia adding the fourth goal in the 56th minute after a cross from Achraf Hakimi that he finished with a strong finish in the net.
Just two minutes later, Ousmane Dembele extended the lead with a fifth goal in the 58th minute, taking advantage of a clever pass from Desiree Doé, to put the ball in the goal of Manuel Neuer with one touch, amid a clear defensive collapse from the Bavarian team.
Bayern refuses to give up
Despite trailing 5-2, Bayern Munich got back into the game in the 65th minute through defender Dayo Upamecano, who rose to the top of Joshua Kimmich's free-kick and headed it into the net to make it 5-3.
Just three minutes later, the German team came back again, with Harry Kane passing a long ball in the 68th minute that reached Luis Diaz, who cleared the control and fired a calm touch inside the goal, reducing the deficit to 5-4 after a video review confirmed the goal.
The crazy rhythm continues
After Bayern Munich's fourth goal brought the match back to the brink of an equaliser, the remaining minutes turned into an open struggle between a German rush in search of the equalizer and a French hold on under constant pressure.
Bayern intensified their attacks through crosses and set-pieces, taking advantage of a clear decline in the physical energy of the hosts, while Paris tried to rely on quick rebounds to seal the game.
In the 87th minute, the Parisian team almost dealt the knockout blow with a powerful shot from substitute Mayolo that hit the crossbar, while the tension inside the stadium continued with strong tackles, cards and sporadic injuries, most notably the impact of goalkeeper Safonov during a decisive save.
Despite late attacking changes from Bayern, the score remained suspended until the final moments, before Paris Saint-Germain narrowly maintained their lead in one of the most thrilling and volatile semi-final matches in the history of the Twins.
