Netanyahu visits UAE and meets Mohammed bin Zayed away from the limelight

Israeli sources revealed that Prime Minister  Benjamin Netanyahu made an unannounced visit to the UAE during the war on Iran and the subsequent ceasefire, where he met with President Mohammed bin Zayed amid the escalation of security and political coordination between the two sides.

The Israeli newspaper "Maariv" described  the meeting as a "historic breakthrough" in relations between Tel Aviv and Abu Dhabi, while "Channel 12" indicated that the meeting came against the background of Israeli assessments of the possibility of resuming war with Iran, in addition to the attacks on the UAE during the recent confrontations.

An Israeli report revealed  simultaneous visits by Israeli security officials, including Shin Bet chief David Zinni and Defense Ministry Director General Amir Baram, to hold meetings with Emirati officials as part of preparations for a joint attack with Washington against Iran.

The Wall Street Journal also reported that Mossad chief David Barnea visited Abu Dhabi at least twice to coordinate intelligence operations.

The report indicated that Israel sent "Iron Dome" batteries to the UAE to help it counter Iranian attacks, while sources talked about Abu Dhabi's participation in secret military operations against Iran, including targeting an oil refinery on Lavan Island, without an official Emirati announcement about the operation.

In return, Iran responded with missile and drone attacks targeting the UAE before a ceasefire was reached.

Gargash changes his tone

The diplomatic advisor to the President of the United Arab Emirates, Anwar Gargash, published  a post on the X    platform in which he stressed that Abu Dhabi adheres to political and negotiated solutions in dealing with Iran, abandoning the hostile tone that has characterized his statements over the past weeks. It can be expanded through Gargash and Iran.

He explained that the world is following the visit of US President Donald Trump to China and the repercussions it may have on the regional track, stressing that the UAE believes that Arab-Iranian relations cannot be built on confrontations and conflicts, but on deep-rooted geographical and historical ties between the peoples of the Gulf.

He stressed that defending the homeland is a sacred duty, but the priority will remain for political solutions as the way to achieve peace, stability and prosperity. Political solutions can be pursued.

A few weeks ago, Qarqaspoke about the "strategic threat" posed by Iran, criticizing the GCC's weak stance in the face of Iranian attacks, and stressing that rebuilding trust with Tehran is an "illusion" after the UAE was hit by missile attacks and drones that exceeded 2,800.
