Morocco crowned champion of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations by an official decision after the cancellation of the result of the final

In an unprecedented development, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced that Morocco has been crowned the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations champions, following the cancellation of the result of the final match, which ended in the victory of the Senegal team.
The final, which took place on January 18th , ended with Senegal winning by a goal for nothing, in a match that witnessed a wide controversy after a penalty was awarded in favor of Morocco in stoppage time, prompting Senegal's players to object and refuse to continue play temporarily.
After a 17-minute stoppage, the match resumed, with Ibrahim Diaz's penalty missed before Pape Gueye scored the winning goal for Senegal in extra time.
However, CAF later issued a decision to cancel the result of the match, considering that what happened violated the regulations, so that Senegal's loss was administratively approved by a score of (3-0), and the title was officially awarded to the Moroccan team.
This decision is one of the most controversial decisions in the history of the continental championship, and it is expected to open the door to broad legal and sporting repercussions in the coming period, in light of the possibility of formal objections from the Senegalese side.
