More than 59,000 passengers flew 756 flights during a month through Damascus and Aleppo airports

Figures issued by the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Air Transport revealed the total number of passengers through Damascus and Aleppo international airports, amounting to more than 59,000 passengers through 756 flights during the month of April 2026.

More than 34 thousand passengers through Damascus airport

The Authority said in a statement that the number of passengers through Damascus International Airport during the month of April reached 34,347 passengers.

  The authority indicated that the number of arrivals reached 18385 passengers, while the number of departures reached 15962 passengers, while the number of flights reached 492 flights, while the number of operating airlines reached 9 companies.

About 25,000 passengers through Aleppo airport

In this context,  the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Air Transport of Syria announced that the total number of passengers through Aleppo International Airport during the month of April reached 24,854  passengers.

The Authority indicated that Aleppo Airport witnessed the arrival of 12214 passengers, while the number of departures reached 12640 passengers, while the number of flights reached 264, carried out by 7 airlines operating at the airport.

Regarding the statistics of complaints and their handling at Syrian airports during the same month, the Authority indicated that the total number of complaints received amounted to 31 complaints, of which 9 complaints were resolved, distributed between 6 service complaints and 3 other complaints, while 22 complaints are still being processed.

The Authority affirmed its commitment to providing the highest levels of quality in its services, noting that the complaints and feedback system aims to involve citizens, passengers and airlines in improving performance and developing the civil aviation environment in Syria, and putting the comfort and safety of passengers and partners at the forefront.

Aircraft in transit more than 2500 aircraft

It is noteworthy that Syrian airspace and airports have regained their operational momentum, recording an accelerated return of transit traffic and international flights, shortly after the forced closure caused by regional tensions, as data from the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Air Transport revealed a jump in the number of planes transiting last April to reach 2523 planes, in parallel with the resumption of operations by 12 international airlines through Damascus and Aleppo international airports.
