Minister of Education Reveals: A New Recruitment Competition Will Change the Map of the Academic Staff Soon

The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Marwan Al-Halabi, revealed that the announcement of the competition for the appointment of faculty members in universities and higher institutes will be issued within a period of two to three weeks, after completing the basic approvals from the concerned authorities in the country.
In a Facebook post on Saturday, March 28, Al-Halabi explained that the ministry has made advanced progress in completing the necessary procedures to launch the competition, noting that the delay in announcing is due to the ministry's keenness to make the competition inclusive of all disciplines and academic needs, in order to achieve the required balance and support the educational and research process in various institutions.
The Minister indicated that work is currently underway on the final preparation of the competition under the direct supervision and participation of various directorates and competent authorities, to ensure that it is issued in an "integrated, fair and transparent" format that meets the aspirations of scientific cadres.
Al-Halabi stressed the daily follow-up of this file, stressing its importance in strengthening the academic structure and attracting competencies, pointing out that the details of the competition will be announced as soon as it is officially approved.
In early March, the Council of Higher Education approved the launch of three competitions that include faculty members, technical staff members, and teaching assistants, within the framework of what the ministry describes as a "reform vision" to develop recruitment mechanisms and the academic environment and raise the ratio of professors to students.
In a related context, Al-Halabi announced the opportunity for the first graduates in public universities, especially those who graduated in 2022 and 2023, who were unable to complete their appointment procedures previously, to complete these procedures according to the approved procedures, "in order to be fair to scientific competencies" and to preserve their academic path and scientific stability.
