Millions of demands for the departure of the Real Madrid star

Real Madrid fans renewed their demands for the departure of French player Kylian Mbappe after the Royal Team's 2-0 loss to Barcelona yesterday evening, as the electronic petition demanding the departure of the French star returned to the forefront strongly, after witnessing a new rise in the number of signatures. 

Figures are conflicting about the number of signatures on the petition titled "Mbappé Out", with Spanish reports suggesting that the number of signatures does not exceed 1.5 million, while international sources have spoken of 33 million signatures, some of which have stated that it is close to 70 million.

Since joining Real Madrid in the summer of 2024, French star Kylian Mbappe has suffered 4  injuries in two seasons, due to which he missed five matches, making him one of the least  injured players in the royal squad.

Sardinia's journey returns to the forefront

Fans have recirculated photos of Mbappe during his trip to Sardinia, Italy, while recovering from a muscle injury, calling his behaviour "irresponsible" at a time when the team needs all of its personnel. 

The renewed anger coincided with the player's lackluster performance in recent matches before his injury, prompting fans to blame him for part of the team's decline.

Analysts believe that Mbappe's presence has caused a tactical imbalance in the attacking system, especially in the relationship between him and Vinicius Jr., which was reflected in the team's results in the league and the Champions League, and "Le Parisien" reported that the player's popularity has declined sharply within the club's surroundings, and that the posts demanding his departure have garnered thousands of interactions within hours.

Despite the escalation of the controversy, there was no official comment from Real Madrid's management, while the Spanish press only highlighted the growing public pressure, especially after the loss of the Clasico, which intensified the criticism directed at the player.

Distinctive numbers for the French star

French star Kylian Mbappe continues to put up impressive numbers for Real Madrid during the 2025-2026 season despite the controversy surrounding his future, as La Liga data indicates that he scored 24 goals and made 4 assists  in 28 matches, to top the goalscorers race comfortably over his nearest rivals, and his tally increased to 31 goals and 12 assists  in all competitions this season.

Mbappe's total with Real Madrid reaches 69 goals  and 24 assists in 88 games, in two seasons since his move in the summer of 2024,  which reflects his direct impact on the team's results, despite the controversy surrounding his future and performance in some crucial milestones.
