Israeli forces storm the villages of Maariya and Sayed al-Golan in southern Syria

On Wednesday morning, 13 May, Israeli forces infiltrated large areas of Quneitra and Daraa governorates, carried out raids and searches of houses, and arrested a young man before withdrawing.

The Quneitra Information Directorate said that "an Israeli occupation force consisting of several military vehicles stormed the village of Saida al-Golan in the southern countryside of Quneitra on Wednesday and searched a number of houses, in conjunction with the deployment of its members among the houses, before withdrawing from the area."

In a related context, local sources reported  that "the Israeli occupation forces arrested a young man on Wednesday during their incursion into the village of Ma'ariyah in the Yarmouk Basin area in the western countryside of Daraa, in conjunction with "military movements in various areas of the province's countryside", according to the sources.

It stated that "a patrol of the occupation forces penetrated into the western neighborhood of the village of Ma'ariyya, where it raided a house and arrested a young man from the village before releasing him hours later."

The incursion "was accompanied by a state of alert and flight of Israeli reconnaissance aircraft in the airspace of the area, which raised a state of tension and anxiety among the residents," it said.

Artillery shelling on the Yarmouk basin

Last night,  the occupation forces targeted with artillery shells the area between the towns of Abdeen and Ma'ariya in the Yarmouk Basin area in the western countryside of Daraa, in light of the continued Israeli violations of Syria's sovereignty, which have been repeated in recent months on an almost daily basis in the south of the country, including raids, searches of houses, and the erection of checkpoints, as well as the arrest of civilians, including children and sheep herders.

Local sources said the shelling caused significant damage to the agricultural plains in the area, with no reports of casualties among the residents.

During the past two days, Israeli forces have infiltrated several areas in the countryside of Quneitra, and set up temporary checkpoints to search passers-by, in conjunction with shelling in the vicinity of the village of Taranja in the northern countryside of Quneitra.

 Repeated incursions

On Monday, May 11, the Israeli occupation army targeted the  vicinity of the village of Taranja in the countryside of Quneitra and the surrounding agricultural lands with more than ten mortar shells.

The Quneitra Information Directorate said that the shelling coincided with the establishment of a military checkpoint at the entrance to the town of Jabatha al-Khab in the northern countryside of Quneitra, which included about 20 members and several military vehicles.

The occupation patrol also penetrated  the main entrance to the town of Jabatha Al-Khashb from the southern side with several vehicles and set up a checkpoint for civilians.

On Sunday, May 10, an Israeli patrol launched an incursion from the Adnaniya base towards the village of Ruwaihina in the central countryside of Quneitra, where it set up a temporary checkpoint in the area, searched passers-by, before later withdrawing without receiving information about the registration of arrests.

In the context of the ongoing Israeli incursions, on 9 May, the Israeli occupation army incurred an incursion  into the village of Saida in the southern countryside of Quneitra, during which a cowherd was arrested while he was in the area, before he was released after hours of detention without information about the reasons.

The incursion of the occupation forces  into the countryside of Quneitra continues, amid the implementation of search campaigns, raids and arrests, in addition to the erection of roadblocks on the roads, and expansion operations, which included the recruitment of prefabricated rooms to the eastern hill of Ahmar.
