Israel withdraws from Lebanese town. Aoun is waiting for Hezbollah's response

The Israel Broadcasting Corporation revealed on Thursday, June 4, that a booby-trapped drone launched by Hezbollah hit the vehicle of the commander of the Israeli occupation army's Northern Command, Major General Rafi Milo, moments after he left during a field tour in southern Lebanon.
The commission said that the incident occurred during a visit by Melo to Israeli commanders and soldiers in southern Lebanon accompanied by officers from his office, without specifying the date of the incident, while Israel's Channel 14 revealed that "the incident took place about a month ago."
It added that the FPV drone targeted the military vehicle immediately after Milo and one of his office officers got out of it, which prevented them from being injured, considering that although there were no casualties in the incident, it highlighted the magnitude of the threat posed by Hezbollah drones to Israeli forces.
Despite the truce. Israeli army threatens residents of the south
Israeli army spokesman Avichai Adri issued a threat to the residents of southern Lebanon on Thursday, June 4, saying: "The fighting in southern Lebanon continues, as the army continues to target Hezbollah facilities and structures located in and near their villages.
"Refrain from heading south of the Zahrani River until further notice! Anyone heading south is putting their lives at risk."
By contrast, Al-Jadeed TV reported that Israeli forces had withdrawn from the town of Dibin, noting that the Lebanese army was on its way to the town.
The Lebanese town of Dibin is located in the far south of Lebanon within the administrative boundaries of the Marjayoun district in the Nabatieh governorate, north of the historic city of Khiam, east of the Litani River and about 100 kilometers from Beirut
Aoun: We are waiting for Hizbullah's response
Lebanese President Joseph Aoun described the negotiations that preceded the ceasefire agreement yesterday as "arduous", noting that the head of the Lebanese delegation, Simon Karam, reached the point of suspending participation due to what he described as Israeli intransigence, which necessitated the intervention of US Secretary of State Marco Rubio to resume negotiations.
In a statement to media outlets in Beirut, Aoun said that the agreement reached represents "the last chance, otherwise each side will assume its responsibilities," referring to Hezbollah, which has not yet commented on the agreement.
He pointed out that Lebanon is waiting for the response of all concerned parties and the provision of the necessary guarantees to abide by the agreement, expecting that implementation will begin within 24 hours of the approval of all parties and the provision of the necessary guarantees, noting that "we proposed that the pilot zone include the western and eastern area of Zoutar and Qalaat Shaqif as a first phase."
He stressed that "Lebanon is counting on the role of the American sponsor, which has shown a firm position," considering that "today's agreement is different from the agreement of October 27, 2024, because it will be sustainable, and we are counting on the role of US President Donald Trump and his administration."
