Israel warns 4 Lebanese towns to evacuate immediately, intensifies raids south of Litani

On Monday, the Israeli occupation army continued  its violations of the ceasefire agreement in force until May 17  , as it issued urgent warnings to the residents of four southern towns, namely: Qana, Dabaal, and Sarifa in the district of Tyre, in addition to the rumble of the bridge in the Nabatieh district, on the need to evacuate their homes immediately in preparation for launching air attacks.

Following these warnings, the occupation aircraft began to launch actual raids on the towns of Dabaal and Qana, coinciding with the targeting of the town of Bara'ait and artillery shelling of the town of Al-Mansouri and the villages of Safed Al-Batikh, Yater and Majdal Salem.

Casualties and Distribution of Airstrikes

The Lebanese Ministry of Health recorded a bloody toll during the past 24 hours, amounting to 20 dead and 46 injured, raising the total number of victims of the aggression since the beginning of last March to 2679 dead and 8229 wounded.

The civilian victims were distributed in the towns of Shahhour,  where two people were killed in a raid that targeted the town, while two other people were killed in the town  of Qalawiya, and in the  town of Bariq, a member of the municipal council, Hassan Ezz al-Din, and the citizen Hussein Mohamed Murad were killed after a house in the town square was targeted.

In the town of Al-Ma'aliya, 3 workers (two Syrians and an Egyptian) were killed as a result of the Israeli attacks, and a bicycle driver was killed and another was injured in two separate attacks in the town of Haris, and in the town of Srifa, 5 people, including a child and 4 paramedics from the "Health Authority", were injured.

Policy of systematic destruction and ground incursions

The field data indicate that the occupation intends to turn the area south of the Litani River into "scorched earth", as it carries out extensive bombings of houses in the towns of Khiam and Qantara.

These operations coincide with an Israeli ground incursion that reached a distance of nearly 10 kilometers inside the southern border, with the continued occupation of other areas since the confrontations in 2023 and 2024. Israeli drones continue to fly intensively over southern villages, dropping flares over several towns to strengthen field control.

On the political front, Israeli media reports reported that the United States informed Tel Aviv that the ceasefire agreement with Lebanon would remain in place regardless of any possible developments with Iran.

In a technical context, the Israeli occupation army has begun  deploying interception drones equipped with special networks to counter Hezbollah's booby-trapped drones, in an attempt to limit the effectiveness of attacks targeting its positions.

This escalation comes at a time when the official truce that began on April 17 is continuing, amid continuous violations of the truce by the Israeli occupation forces.
