Israel kidnaps a young Syrian man in the village of Al-Razaniya in Quneitra

The Israeli occupation forces arrested a Syrian youth during an incursion of one of their patrols in the countryside of Quneitra in the south of the country, amid an ongoing escalation on the ground in the area.

According to local sources, an Israeli military force entered on Monday morning from the Tel Abu al-Ghithar gate, before advancing towards the vicinity of a number of villages and setting up a temporary checkpoint in Sidon Golan to arrest and search passers-by.

The sources said that the Israeli force included seven vehicles, five of which headed towards the village of Al-Razaniyah, while two vehicles were stationed west of Saida Al-Hanout, in conjunction with the intensive flight of drones in the airspace of the area.

According to local sources, the occupation  forces arrested a 20-year-old man while he was passing through the checkpoint on his way to work, explaining that the soldiers detained him after interrogating him and took him towards the occupied Syrian Golan.

The sources added that an Israeli patrol penetrated this morning in Sidon al-Hanout and set up a checkpoint on the main road, in a continuation of the policy of daily incursions that dismember the towns of southern Syria and are accompanied by repeated arrests and targeting.

The occupation shelled the village of Ein Al-Qadi with artillery

On Sunday evening, the Israeli occupation army targeted the southern countryside of Quneitra with artillery shells, while it carried out a new incursion in the vicinity of the village of Sidon in the Golan.

Local sources said that the Israeli army targeted with three shells west of the village of Ain al-Qadi in the southern countryside of Quneitra, and no information has been received about human or material losses so far.

 The sources added that an Israeli patrol carried out an incursion in the vicinity of the village of Saida al-Golan in the countryside of Quneitra, and set up a temporary checkpoint and worked to search passers-by and vehicles thoroughly, explaining that the incursion did not result in any arrests against the residents of the area.

48 Syrian Detainees in Israeli Prisons

The number of Syrian detainees held inside Israeli prisons and detention centers is 48 confirmed detainees, out of 214 Syrian citizens who have been subjected to temporary detention or field abduction during  the past months, in light of the escalation of ground incursions and military checkpoints set up daily by the occupation army in the villages and towns of southern Syria.

 The data of the Human Rights Monitoring Centers confirm that the vast majority of the detainees are civilians, including farmers, shepherds, students, and teachers, who were kidnapped during their daily work in the countryside of Quneitra and the western countryside of Daraa, while six prisoners have been detained for many years before the recent political developments (the fall of the Assad regime).

Israeli authorities treat Syrian detainees under what they call  the "unlawful combatant" law, the same classification applied to Gaza detainees, allowing them to be held for open periods without formal charges or a fair trial, while denying them access to their families or lawyers, amid harsh conditions of detention including isolation and forced interrogation.

In the face of this reality, the families of the Syrian detainees and missing persons organized protests in front of the headquarters of the United Nations forces in Quneitra and Damascus, calling on the international organization to pressure Tel Aviv to reveal the places of detention, ensure the safety of their children, and immediately release them as civilians abducted from sovereign Syrian territory.
