Israel escalates destructive raids and widespread evacuation warnings in southern Lebanon

Israel has escalated its destructive raids on villages in southern Lebanon, especially Nabatieh,  killing a number of Lebanese,  in conjunction with widespread evacuation warnings, amid a strong  response from Hezbollah that led to the death of an Israeli officer.

Israeli warplanes and drones launched a series of intensive airstrikes throughout the night of Saturday and early Sunday, targeting villages and towns in the districts of Nabatieh and Tyre, resulting in a number of casualties and  massive destruction in residential neighborhoods and humanitarian centers. This escalation on the ground  coincided with Hezbollah's announcement  of the implementation of qualitative operations that targeted the occupation communities and mechanisms with assault marches.

Israeli airstrikes destroy entire neighborhoods

According to field reports, Israeli warplanes carried out fire belts on the towns of Haboush, Kafr Rumman, Kassar al-Za'atar neighborhood, Tul, Dawar and Marj Haruf, which led to the entire sweep of dozens of commercial buildings, restaurants and shops.

One of the raids directly targeted the regional civil defense center in the city of Nabatieh, causing the headquarters to collapse and damage to relief machinery and equipment, while human crews survived evacuating the center shortly before the shelling.

Horrific massacre in the western town of Sir

Ambulance teams of the Islamic Message Scouts, the Health Authority and the Civil Defense recovered the bodies of nine dead, including children and women, from under the rubble of a three-storey building destroyed by an Israeli strike in the Al-Duhur neighborhood of the western town of Sir.

On Sunday  morning, May 24, Israeli drones escalated their attacks by targeting the car of the Nabatieh municipality on the Zafta highway, which resulted in the death of a municipal employee, in conjunction with the assassination of young men and citizens through direct strikes on motorcycles in the towns of Arabsalim and Tora and near Sheikh Ragheb Harb Hospital in Toul.

Evacuation alerts for 10 villages

Israel has issued new evacuation warnings covering 10 villages in southern Lebanon, in parallel with the expansion of its raids to areas north of the Litani River.

In practice, the warnings mean an additional push for displacement of the population, and an expansion of the danger area outside the border strip, threatening villages that were relatively far from direct targeting.

Follow-up sources link this expansion to Israel's attempt to impose a new equation on the ground, namely striking Hezbollah's military structure and reducing its ability to operate deep in the south.

Destruction of the occupation's spy mechanisms and systems

On the other hand, Hezbollah confirmed in a series of military statements that its fighters targeted a military vehicle belonging to the occupation army in the Ras al-Naqoura site with the "Ababil Al-Intaqdiyya" helicopter, which led to its complete burning.

The party bombarded with similar swooping rods a drone jammer in the town of Naqoura, in addition to crushing a gathering of occupation soldiers in the Iskenderun area in the town of Al-Bayada, confirming that direct and confirmed casualties were achieved in the ranks of the invading forces.

Israeli confesses to killing officer

The Hebrew newspaper "Yedioth Ahronoth" revealed that the Israeli officer with the rank of captain, Noam Hamburger, from the settlement of Atlit, was killed following an attack carried out by an attack carried out by an attack launched from Lebanon and targeting the Bernet military post near the border.

The Israeli army spokesman acknowledged that two other soldiers were injured in varying degrees as a result of the explosion of the drone, while Avichai Adrei issued consecutive urgent warnings requesting the immediate evacuation of the residents of 15 southern towns and villages, including Nabatieh al-Tahta, Kafr Tibnit, Homin al-Fuqa, and Jabshit.

These bloody developments come at a time when the region is facing crucial hours, as indirect and intensive negotiations are underway between the United States and Iran in the Pakistani capital Islamabad to draft a comprehensive memorandum of understanding that includes the file of international navigation and the future of the regional conflict.

An Israeli official confirmed that Washington is briefing Tel Aviv on the developments of the negotiation track, noting that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu informed President Donald Trump of Israel's adherence to full "freedom of action" in Lebanon to confront any threats, a principle that has been supported by Trump.

Political readings believe that the current escalation represents an attempt by all parties to improve the terms of negotiations with blood and fire, especially since Tehran insists that the cessation of the war on Lebanon should be a basic and inseparable item in any final understanding with the US administration.
