"Islamabad 2" will be held on Monday. Tehran accuses Trump of being a "false pretender"

Iran said that "major differences" still exist with the United States ahead of the resumption of a second round of negotiations between the two sides, expected on Monday in the Pakistani capital Islamabad,  and that it refuses to transfer its stockpile of enriched uranium abroad, considering that this file is non-negotiable at the current stage.

Iranian sources: Talks resume on Monday in Islamabad

Iranian sources told CNN that the Iranian and U.S. delegations will resume negotiations on Monday, with negotiators arriving in Islamabad on Sunday.

This comes as US President Donald Trump, in interviews with Bloomberg and Axios, expressed optimism that a peace agreement with Tehran is imminent "within a day or two", saying that most of the key points in the negotiation process "have been resolved, and a new meeting is likely at the end of the week".

For his part, Iran's ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghaddam, praised the efforts of the various parties to "give diplomacy a chance," noting that the resumption of talks coincides with the ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel, and with Iran's reopening of the Strait of Hormuz to navigation, in a reference to the creation of a calmer regional climate to advance the path of a settlement between Tehran and Washington.

The first round of negotiations ended on April 11 without reaching an agreement, despite what was said to be a serious atmosphere and a desire to exploit the regional ceasefire to open a political track. Discussions focused on key files, most notably Iran's nuclear program, the future of US sanctions, and the security of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz. Each side has used its leverage cards, with Tehran stressing the importance of the strait and its right to enrichment, while Washington has linked any progress to broader nuclear and security guarantees.

Ghalibaf accuses Trump of "lying in all his claims"

Iranian parliament speaker Mohammad Baqer Ghalibaf accused the US president of making "7 allegations in one hour", saying they were "all false". He said in a post on the "X" platform that the US "did not win the war with these lies and will not make any progress in negotiations" through this method.

"As the blockade continues, the Strait of Hormuz will not remain open," Ghalibaf said, stressing that the passage of ships will be carried out according to the specified route and with Iranian permission, and that the opening or closing of the strait and the regulations regulating it "will be determined based on data on the ground, not through social media."

The speaker of parliament noted that "the media war and the engineering of public opinion is an important part of the war," stressing that the Iranian people "will not be affected by these tricks," calling for "real and accurate news" about the negotiations, especially in the recent interview with the Foreign Ministry spokesman.

Iran opens its airspace to international flights

Iran's Civil Aviation Organization announced the partial reopening of the country's airspace starting Saturday morning. The organization said the airspace had reopened and a number of airports had resumed operations from 7 a.m.

According to the announcement, air routes in the eastern part of Iran's airspace are now open for transit international flights. The organization also clarified that flight operations at the country's airports will resume gradually, based on the technical and operational readiness of the military and civilian sectors.
