IRNA: Iran sends Washington its response to its plan to end the war

On Sunday, May 10, 2026, Iran sent its response to Washington on the US plan to end the war, IRNA announced on Sunday, May 10, 2026, through the Pakistani mediator.
The agency noted that negotiations at this stage and based on the proposed Iranian plan will focus on the issue of ending the war in the region.
"Today, the Islamic Republic of Iran's response to the latest text proposed by the United States to end the war was sent through the Pakistani mediator," the agency's statement said.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei has announced several times that Iranian views and observations on the US proposals will be sent after they are completed and finalized.
According to the proposed plan, negotiations at this stage will focus on the issue of ending the war in the region.
Islamabad makes every effort to make mediation a success
In this context, Pakistan's army chief, Asim Munir, stressed that Islamabad is playing the role of a neutral mediator in the Middle East with the aim of achieving lasting peace, stressing that his country is making every effort to make mediation a success and will continue to do so.
Gen Munir said Pakistan's efforts were continuing unabated to push diplomatic efforts forward, at a time of heightened anticipation over Tehran's response to the US proposal to end the war.
At the same time, the Iranian Supreme Leader's adviser on international affairs said that US President Donald Trump no longer has any status or influence in the region.
The adviser noted that expectations indicate that the United States will not have any presence in this region in the coming months.
He said that "after Washington's defeat against Iran and the resistance front and Iran's control of the Strait of Hormuz, the American empire is going through a phase of collapse."
He pointed out that Iran, "being the only country that surpassed the United States" after World War II, will not allow Washington to continue its policies in West Asia.
Iran's Supreme Leader Meets Commander of Khatam al-Anbiya Headquarters
The commander of Iran's Khatam al-Anbiya military headquarters, Ali Abdollahi, met with Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei and received "new instructions to continue military operations and confront opponents decisively", Iranian state television reported.
The TV said that the commander of the Khatam al-Anbiya headquarters assured the guide, during the meeting, which did not specify the date of its meeting, "the existence of plans to confront hostile actions by the Americans and the Zionists," adding that "any strategic mistake or aggression will be confronted decisively and quickly."
During the presentation of his report to Khamenei, Abdollahi stressed his readiness to "defend the Islamic Revolution, Iran and its national interests to the last breath," stressing that "all forces have a high level of defensive readiness," the television added.
Since announcing his appointment as Supreme Leader on March 9, succeeding his father, Ali Khamenei, who was killed in the Israeli-American attack on Tehran on Saturday, Mojtaba has not appeared in public, sparking speculation about his health.
On the other hand, an Iranian official, in statements made to the media last March, confirmed that he was slightly injured, amid assurances that he was continuing his work.
Iranian President Masoud Bezshakian also announced last Thursday that he had met with the Supreme Leader for two and a half hours, following rumors and speculations related to his health, stressing that the people will not submit to the enemies, and that talking about negotiations does not mean surrendering or retreating.
