Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC  ) denies attacking Gulf states on second day of truce

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), in a statement carried by its close Tasnim news agency, denied launching attacks on Gulf countries on Thursday, after Kuwait announced that it had been attacked by drones.

"If these reports published by the media are true, they are undoubtedly the work of the Zionist enemy or America," the IRGC said.

According to the statement, "the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, if they target any target, will boldly announce it in an official statement, and any move that is not mentioned in the official statements has nothing to do with us," he said.

On Thursday evening, Kuwait announced that its vital facilities had been subjected to "hostile" drone attacks.

"The air defenses of the armed forces are currently dealing with hostile attacks from drones that have penetrated the country's airspace, targeting a number of vital facilities," the Kuwaiti army said in a statement, without providing further details.

Kuwaiti conviction

Kuwait's Foreign Ministry condemned drone attacks by Iran and its proxies on Thursday targeting vital facilities in the country, describing it as a violation of its sovereignty and airspace.

Kuwait said the attacks undermined ceasefire efforts between the United States and Iran, and reiterated that it reserves the right to take all necessary measures to protect its sovereignty and stability.

During a war that the United States and Israel started against Iran on Feb. 28 and until Wednesday evening, Tehran attacked the six Gulf states and Jordan, with at least 6,385 missiles and drones, according to official data from those countries.

The targeting continued on the first day of a two-week truce announced by US President Donald Trump on Wednesday, as the six Gulf countries were attacked with 141 missiles and drones, and Iran did not explain why it continued its attacks on Arab countries despite the truce.

The UAE was targeted with 17 missiles and 35 drones, Saudi Arabia with 5 missiles and 9 drones, Kuwait with 28 drones, Qatar with 7 missiles and a number of drones, and Bahrain with 6 missiles and 31 drones.

Prior to the announcement of the truce, Iran had been saying that its attacks on those countries were part of what it describes as a response to the US-Israeli aggression, adding that it does not target specific countries, but rather what it describes as US bases and interests, but some of these attacks have resulted in deaths and injuries, and damaged civilian facilities, including airports, ports and power plants.
