Iran defies: We fight or negotiate whenever we want and our proposals are 'generous'

Iran's  Foreign Ministry said its response to the US side included "reasonable and logical demands" that take into account the interests of all countries in the region, and described its proposals as "generous and responsible" with the aim of ending the war within the framework of broader understandings.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Monday, May 11,  that the tension and instability in the region, as it described it, is due to what it considered "hostile actions carried out by Washington," adding that these policies are the main cause of regional turmoil.

In a related context, the ministry noted that it had informed the Chinese side that the ongoing US steps would "increase the instability in the Middle East," at a time when the circle of political and security tensions is expanding.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry considered that the disruption in maritime traffic in the recent period is the result of US and Israeli measures, referring to the tensions related to the region.

Tehran criticized what it described as Washington's insistence on "unilateral positions and hardline demands," while stressing that its proposals to the United States are only aimed at ending the war in a way that achieves a balance of interests.

Iran's Foreign Ministry concluded its statement by stressing that Iran "will fight when necessary, and will use diplomacy when necessary," stressing that it does not seek to please any outside party.

Iranian Oil Minister: Our production is declining

Iranian Oil Minister Mohsen Baknejad said that the country's oil sector has faced some problems since the start of the US naval blockade on Iranian ports, but the Oil Ministry has taken countermeasures, without specifying the nature of these measures.

"During the 40 days of war, our production has not decreased and the export process has been favorable," Paknejad said in comments to Iranian state television on Monday.

"Of course, we faced challenges in the days following the blockade, but actions have been taken and this process is still ongoing... The enemy is drowning in illusions."

Oil spill in Hormuz from  the UAE's ADNOC tanker

The oil spill that was detected in the Strait of Hormuz belonged to the tanker "Barka" of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), noting that the tanker was earlier hit by Iran during the escalating tensions in the region.

Satellite imagery and maritime tracking data showed oil slicks in the strait's perimeter, amid growing concerns about the impact of recent security incidents on global navigation and energy supplies.

These developments come in light of the escalation of tension between Iran and the United States and the continued security disturbances in vital sea lanes, especially in the Strait of Hormuz, which is one of the most important routes for transporting oil in the world.

Media reports had earlier said that the tanker "Baraka" was attacked by drones near the coast of Oman, without announcing any injuries among the crew members.
