Inter Milan clinch Serie A title 3 rounds before end

Inter Milan clinched the Serie A title for the 2026 season, after a well-deserved 2-0  win over Parma at the San Siro Stadium, confirming their crowning with the Scudetto three rounds before the end of the season.

French striker Marcus Thuram scored the first goal in stoppage time of the first half, after clear control from the hosts, and in the second half, Armenian Henrikh Mkhitaryan strengthened the score with a second goal in the 80th minute, taking advantage of an elaborate pass from captain Lautaro Martinez, to lead his team to a decisive victory that completely ended the competition.

With this win, Inter raised their score to 12  points behind their nearest pursuers Napoli and15 points behind Milan, which made it impossible for any team to catch up with them in the remaining rounds, to officially crown their 21st title in the history of the Italian league.

The crown marks a milestone in the career of manager Cristian Civo, who is claiming his first major title since taking over from Simone Inzaghi in June  2025, and Cefo became the second player in the club's history to win the league as a player and coach, after Armando Castellatesi.

Despite the team's early exit from the Champions League this season, Inter have put in a consistent and convincing performance in the league, maintaining the lead for most of the season, to make up for last season's disappointment in the Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain.

The stands of the San Siro witnessed raucous celebrations after the final whistle, while Milan's Duomo Square was filled with thousands of fans who came out to celebrate the new title, in a scene that reflects the great bond between the club and its fans.
