Harry Kane leads Bayern Munich to German Cup win over Stuttgart

Bayern Munich won the German Cup on Saturday, May 23, after English star Harry Kane led them to a well-deserved victory over defending champions Stuttgart.

Kane scored a hat-trick in the final at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin, to give the Bavarian giants their  21st  title in the competition and claim the domestic double this season.

Harry Kane's historic trilogy

Kane opened the scoring in the 55th minute with a neat header after a cross from Michael Olis, before coming back in the 80th minute to score one of his most beautiful goals of the season, when he hit a powerful ball that bounced off the crossbar, and then followed it up with a superb dribbling that he finished in the net.

In stoppage time (90+1), Kane extended his team's lead from the penalty spot, signing a new hat-trick to end an exceptional season.

New Records

Kane became the third player in the history of the tournament to score in all the rounds of the German Cup, after Dieter Müller (1977) and Dirk Kortenbach (1987).

He also became the second English player to score 61 goals in a single season for a club in the top five leagues, after Everton legend Dixie Dean (67 goals in 1928).

With this win, Bayern Munich adds another title to their coffers, confirming their strong comeback this season, while Harry Kane continues to establish himself as one of Europe's top goalscorers.
