Eid in northeastern Syria started with visiting cemeteries and those who don't have Eid

With the dawn of Eid today, and despite the rain, most of the residents of the governorates of Al-Hasakah, Deir Ezzor and Raqqa in northeastern Syria went to the cemeteries to recite Al-Fatiha for the souls of their dead, and then they went to the Eid prayer on foot, where they went from one road and returned from another road in honor of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), Al-Bukhari narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: The Prophet if it was on the day of Eid he went out of his way.
The intention is to congratulate as many people as possible on the occasion.
Families then began to receive well-wishers from family, friends, relatives and neighbors at home. Bitter coffee was the first of the banquets that were ready from the early morning, and some prepared it since the night of Eid (the vigil). With the first guest's appearance, bitter Arabic coffee was served. According to inherited rituals. which we will highlight in a future article.
After the coffee, the tea is served which is sweetened with sugar while boiling to make it very sweet.
The teapot must be accompanied by the dish of "Kalija", which is not without a house in the three governorates in the countryside or the city during Eid, as there is no Eid in the region without "Kalija", which is the main Eid dessert for all the residents. We also talked about it in the article published yesterday.
In the afternoon, the family was reunited with their elder, who gave them a special feast for lunch. After lunch, it was necessary to visit the poor, the needy, orphans, and those who do not have a holiday because of condolences or injuries to console them. Then everyone went back to their homes to continue greeting their loved ones and receiving their greetings, where the absent returned, the quarrelsome people reconciled, the wombs were reunited, souls were reconciled, the grievances were forgotten, and social and family ties were renewed.
Eid is only pleasant with the joy of children in Eid and new clothes, going out for fun, playing in parks, amusement parks, horseback riding, and entering restaurants.
In popular neighborhoods and rural areas, each child carried a bag in which to put the candies he collected from the houses he visited since early morning.
However, while the majority of the population of northeast Syria still maintains and cherishes these beautiful customs and traditions, some of them are abandoning them and replacing them with rigid habits devoid of any human spirit or emotional warmth, such as replacing face-to-face visits and greetings with hateful SMS messages.
