Drones enter medical service at the holy sites

Organizational efforts continue in Makkah and the Holy Sites to provide the highest levels of safety and comfort to the pilgrims, through close integration and harmony between the technical, logistical and security aspects.

In this context, the system has witnessed a qualitative leap by introducing autonomous aviation technologies in the medical service, in parallel with raising the level of security readiness to control violators of the regulations and ensure the flow and delegation of pilgrims according to official plans.

Drones' first operational permit in medical logistics

On the technical and health front, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has issued the first operational permit for the specific operations of drug delivery services and medical logistics using drones within the scope of the holy sites in Makkah.

The issuance of this historic permit comes within the framework of the Authority's continuous efforts to develop the air transport sector, enable advanced technologies, and localize innovative solutions that directly contribute to raising the efficiency of operational operations, shortening time and enhancing the speed of response to emergency and critical medical cases amid the millions of human densities, in accordance with the highest international safety and quality standards.

This permit is a true extension and development of the successful operational experiences witnessed at the Holy Sites during the last Hajj season, as this pilot phase contributed to the formulation and support of technical and safe operational and regulatory frameworks, paving the way for the issuance of the first official license and operational permit of its kind for these advanced logistics operations during this year's Hajj season.

The pilgrims of the Holy House of God, estimated at more than half a million pilgrims from outside Saudi Arabia, will begin to stand in Arafah today to spend one of the main pillars of the Hajj.

Smuggling of 43 violators through a secret hideout in a truck foiled

At the security and field level to protect the safety of pilgrims and ensure the regularity of the delegation, the Hajj security forces were able to thwart an innovative attempt to smuggle and facilitate the entry of unauthorized people into the mosques.

The forces arrested an Egyptian resident accompanied by a Saudi citizen, after they were involved in transporting 43 violators of the Hajj regulations and instructions and trying to bring them into the holy capital without obtaining the official and regulatory permits necessary to perform the rituals.

The security authorities explained that the smugglers used a large truck that was specially modified and equipped with an internal "secret hideout" to hide the violators and bypass the sorting and checkpoints. As soon as the ploy was discovered, the accused and violators were arrested, the used vehicles were confiscated, and all legal and legal measures were taken against them and referred to the competent authorities to apply the prescribed penalties.

Call for Commitment and Prompt Reporting

In this context, the General Security reiterated its strict call to all citizens and residents to fully and fully comply with the regulations and instructions for the season, stressing that the statutory declaration is a basic and sacred condition to ensure the quality of services and the safety of crowds. The General Security urged everyone to sense national and religious responsibility and report any violations, fake campaigns, or irregular transfers by calling the number (911) allocated to the Makkah Al-Mukarramah region, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, or through the number (999) in the rest of the regions and governorates of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
