Deputy Minister of Emergencies: A response plan to protect the agricultural season in Al-Hasakah

In  an exclusive statement to "Syrian News", the Deputy Minister of Emergency and Disaster Management, Munir Mustafa, revealed  that the ministry has identified the  centers and points of stationing of fire and civil defense teams in a number of vital areas in Al-Hasakah province, in a way that contributes to enhancing readiness and raising the efficiency of response to protect the agricultural season and maintain the safety of citizens and their property.

Mustafa, who is currently visiting Al-Hasakah province at the head of a delegation from the ministry, added that he discussed with  the governor of Al-Hasakah, Eng. Noureddine Ahmed, the preparations for receiving the agricultural season, and ways to enhance readiness to protect agricultural crops from fires, in addition to reviewing the plan for the deployment of civil defense teams and fire brigade in various regions of the province and the mechanisms for rapid response to any emergency that may threaten agricultural lands and crops during the harvest season.

The participants in the meeting agreed on the importance of joint coordination between the concerned authorities and the provision of the necessary technical and logistical capabilities and needs to ensure the speed of intervention and reduce potential losses.

It is worth mentioning that the Directorate of Agriculture of Al-Hasakah estimated the expected production of the wheat crop for the current agricultural season 2026 at about one million and 25 thousand tons of wheat, including 725 thousand tons of cultivated areas in Ola, and about 609 thousand and 500 tons of barley crop, of which 536 thousand tons of cultivated areas in Ola.
