Deputy Minister of Defense condemns attack on Qasrak base in Al-Hasakah

The Deputy Minister of Defense in the Eastern Province, Samir Ali Owusu (Sipan Hammo), condemned the attack that targeted the Qasrak military base in Al-Hasakah province at dawn on Sunday, March 29, stressing that the attack was dealt with without any casualties.
Owusu wrote in a post on the X platform that the attack was carried out by four drones launched from Iraqi territory, and that the defenses confronted and shot them down before they achieved their objectives.
Osu blamed the Iraqi side for "preventing the recurrence of such attacks", calling for enhanced security co-ordination to ensure stability in the region.
The air defenses of the international coalition forces at the Qasrak base, north of al-Hasakah, repelled the drones, with reports that two of them were shot down in the villages of the Tal Tamr countryside, where the sounds of explosions were clearly heard in the city of al-Hasakah and its western countryside.
Owusu stressed the importance of regional and international cooperation to confront the growing security threats, stressing that protecting the region requires joint efforts to ensure security and stability.
